Should all women use mineral makeup?
On mineral makeup blogs and forums we keep seeing the question, “should all women use mineral makeup?”
The answer to this question depends on if a woman, mom, teen, grandma, ect., wonders if they are causing damage to their skin using chemical makeup and skin care. If the consumers doesn’t care about their skin, than by all means they can use cheap cosmetics, but we’re sure consumers do care and want healthy skin just as they want healthy bodies.
Mineral makeup isn’t the only healthy thing women can be using if they are concerned about their skin. (Please don’t forget, eating and exercise matter more to skin’s health than any cosmetics product applied topically ever could.) Consumers should also be using natural skin care, including natural anti-aging skin care products that are also now considered best for acne treatment also if they want healthy skin.
Some false information was recently posted by the Oz factor, well let’s put that bad info aside, since powder makeup has been used by centuries and to date no women, man or child has ever died using those powder makeups. Those powder makeup have the exact same powder micron sizing as today’s mineral makeup brands, just ask BASF, Croda, or the many other companies that manufacture mica, pigments, for cosmetics. How many women inhale their makeup powder, or have inhaled their makeup powders over the last 100 years? Who did the Oz research? We’re not sure, but we do know it wasn’t an article based on any facts.
Mineral makeup comes in just as many forms as chemical makeup. Mineral makeup is found as pressed, cream, and liquid products. All of which are basically the same as chemical makeup that’s been worn for over a century, but the new mineral makeups are without the harsh chemicals as manufacturing companies find better ingredients that are natural and better for the skin and the environment.
In conclusion, consumers need to realize that even though an article comes from the great Oz, Oprah, or what have you, those individuals are not cosmetic chemists, they are not authorized in any field to make factual statements unless they have compitent resources to back up what they write, in the Oz case, no information from any authority, Doctor, Cancer research facility, etc was offered. All the before mentioned authorities do have well written articles regarding the fact that physician’s approve mineral makeup and natural skin care. Have you been to a spa that uses chemical skin care?
Mineral makeup is safe, powder, pressed, liquid, or cream, than it’s counter-part chemical makeup. Remember to read ingredient labels, and if you do care about your skin, use natural skin care products also.
